Regional differences in the population development of the USA, focusing on the 21st century Abstract This paper examines the population development problematics of four Census Regions of the USA designated by the U.S. Census Bureau during the time period of 2000-2017. Using the standard demographic analytical methods of public access population estimates, public health and migration data, significant differences are found. Most significant differences are found in case of the migration between Census Regions. Additionally, the paper examines the effect of the Great Recession, which was peaking during the years 2007-2009, on the population development. The main purpose of this diploma thesis is the interconnection of three subjects. Change management, people management during changes and economic crisis, which has affected worldwide economics during the years of 2008 to 2010. The methods and tools of change management could be applied to any change concerning an organization. Starting with partial changes, changes in particular processes or departments, concluding with overall, strategic changes, such as company restructuring, reengineering, fusion etc. One type of the changes presents the external changes, such as the economic recession. However, this external change causes many internal changes, where the companies decrease the costs, restructure particular department and change the strategy. In connection with that, the work focuses on the area of people management from the point of the human resources managers as well as executive management. The process of managing changes resulting from the crisis is followed by many changes in the personnel management sector. In this paper are compared three independent researches concerning the reaction of companies to the unfavorable economical situation. Comparison and analysis of development of Greek and Latvian economy between years 2005 and 2014

The main topic of this bachelor thesis is development of the economy of Greece and Latvia. Period of observation is between years 2005 and 2014 because under this time both countries got into serious economic problems and it also incorporates period both before and after the main fall into recession influenced by global financial crisis. First part deals with theoretical basis of various indicators used to describe the economy of both countries. The analysis and comparison part examines the situation of both counties over the period to find causes of different evolution of economy in these countries that still overlaps into present time.
Impact of 2008 - 10 economic recession on suicide in the Czech Republic

The thesis analyze the impact of 2008 economic recession on suicide rate in the Czech Republic. In the first step of analysis, time trends of suicide before economic recession are estimated. Historical trends had been declining for both sexes before recession. Based on these trends are estimated excess suicides in 2008 -- 2010 compare with the number expected suicides based on previous trends. In the second step of analysis, regression analysis using fixed effect is used to examine relationship between unemployment and suicides. It's found, that yearly fluctuations in unemployment are associated with annual changes in suicides among men. For women this relationship isn't significantly proved. The examination is conducted on 14 regions of the Czech Republic from 2000 to 2010. Main explanatory variable is the number of available job applicants that measures changes in unemployment. Other control variables are added to the models to eliminate fixed effects . The annual data for the male population shown, that in regions, where was the highest growth of unemployment rate, was also the highest increase in suicide.
Comparing position of private labels in the Czech Republic and the UK

The thesis compares and evaluates the current status of development and position of private labels on the market in the Czech Republic and Great Britain. The comparison is based on the data of AC Nielsen and IRI World Wide. Markets were compared in terms of market concentration, investment in own brands or promotional activities, analysis of consumer behavior and the evolution of private labels sales during the economic recession. The thesis proved that the weak position of private labels on the Czech market, compared to the UK market, is low concentration of the retail market, low investments in private labels, poor image and particularly high promotional activities branded products during the economic recession.
Analysis of social indicators in region Pardubice during 2006 - 2011

This diploma work analyzes selected social indicators in region Pardubice. The aim of the diploma work is find out how the indicators developed under the influence of economic recession. Period between the years 2006 and 2011 is analyzed. The theoretical part of the diploma work is focused on characterization of selected social indicators, inception of economic recession and its impacts on the Czech republic. The practical part of the diploma work analyzes first demographic and economic situation in region Pardubice and then it analyzes selected social indicators. It compares the progress of the indicators in region Pardubice with the progress of average value of these indicators in the Czech republic. The analysis confirmed that economic recession has presumed social impacts and so it influences selected social indicators.
Fiscal policy of USA in current economic recession

Economies all around the world are currently in phase of recession and economic loss. For my study I chose United States, because here we can find beginnings of nowadays recession and also their government decided for biggest financial incentives for recovering the economy. Goal of this study is to determine the state of fiscal policy of country, which has the most advanced economy in the world and offer suggestions for their stabilization. After a brief description of the current economic situation and analysis of government spending to the growth of macroeconomic indicators in the historical context, I want to prove, if economic growth is accompanied by the serenity of fiscal policy, or has long-term instability. Object of interest is also current and extensive government spending on programs to revive the economy. Subsequent analysis of public debt and its financing, the possible consequences of debt and deficits should create a good picture of fiscal policy in the U.S. Understanding of current situation will help me to propose solutions, according to the economic theories, for stabilizing fiscal policy in case, if U.S. want to maintain world's leading economic position.
Situation of foreigners in the Czech labor market in the ongoing economic cycle

Due to political changes in 1989-90, the Czech Republic has become an immigration country. The number of foreigners in the Czech Republic has grown rapidly and foreigners has gradually become an integral part of the Czech labor market. The economic recession in 2009 significantly affected the situation on the labor market. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to evaluate the impact of the economic crisis on the number of employed foreigners in comparison with the impact on the total number of employed persons in the country. This is done by analyzing the statistical data. They are also examined changes in the structure of employment of foreigners and the total number of foreigners in the Czech Republic. In conclusion, there is an evaluation of the project voluntary returns in 2009. This project is one of the responses to the economic recession and the unfavorable situation of foreigners that should ensure the security situation in the country.
Financial crisis and its impact on public finances

The aim of my bachelor thesis is to analyze impact of financial crisis on public sector, especially on public expenses and government budget. First part describes mortgage crisis and its causes. Further there is an analysis of its impact on financial sector and origin of financial crisis, which after all led in economic recession. The second part is devoted to government rescue plans to boost the economy and financial system and evaluation of their efficiency. The last part is focused on debt crisis of developed countries and its possible solutions.
The problems of the labour market in the Vysočina region

The diploma work "Problems of the labour market in the region of Vysočina" evaluates the main causes and process of the economic recession, based on an analysis of the labour market and unemployment in the region of Vysočina which are based on chosen socioeconomic and demographic characteristics. The work consists of theoretical and practical parts. The first chapter is devoted to basic theoretical concepts concerning the labor market. The second chapter deals with unemployment and clarifies its economic, social and psychological impacts. The third chapter contains an analysis of demographic and socioeconomic characteristics affecting the labor market in the region. The fourth chapter assesses the impact and consequences of the crisis in the Vysočina region and explains the emergence of the financial crisis and its expansion into the real economy. The fifth chapter covers the analysis of the labor market and unemployment during the economic cycle changes. The last two chapters contain empirical research carried out using questionnaires, whose task was to clarify the feelings and attitudes of the population to adverse economic developments and their impact on the labor market and employment.
